Understanding Your Results

Corrected QT interval accounts for heart rate. Bazett’s formula is most common; Fridericia’s is more accurate at extreme heart rates. QTc >500 ms carries high torsades risk.

  • Normal: QTc <470 ms (men) or <480 ms (women).
  • Borderline prolonged: 470–500 ms. Monitor and review medications.
  • High risk: >500 ms. Elevated risk of Torsades de Pointes.
