Classifies severity of liver cirrhosis and predicts operative mortality and long-term prognosis.

Total serum bilirubin. Alternative: <2 mg/dL=1pt, 2-3=2pts, >3=3pts

Serum albumin. Alternative: >3.5=1pt, 2.8-3.5=2pts, <2.8=3pts

International normalized ratio. Alternative: PT <4s prolonged=1pt, 4-6s=2pts, >6s=3pts

Grade of hepatic encephalopathy
