Editorial Policy

AchaWaqat publishes free, evidence-based medical calculators and the educational content around them. This policy describes how that content is produced, reviewed, and maintained.

Evidence first

Every calculator implements a formula from a published source — a clinical guideline, a peer-reviewed study, or an established medical reference. The source is named on the page. We do not invent statistics, studies, quotations, or clinical claims. If a number appears on AchaWaqat, it can be traced to its origin.

How content is produced

  • Calculation logic is implemented and then tested against known answers from the source publication before anything goes live.
  • Explanatory text is written to help readers understand what the result means, its limitations, and when to seek professional care.
  • Every page is medically reviewed before publication (see our Medical Review Policy).

Authorship and accountability

Content is authored by the AchaWaqat editorial team and medically reviewed by Dr. Taimoor Asghar, physician and community medicine researcher. The reviewer is named on every page.

Keeping content current

Medical knowledge changes. Pages are re-checked when the guidelines they are based on are updated, and readers can report anything suspicious at any time through our Corrections Policy page. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly and transparently.

Independence

Medical content is never written to promote a product, clinic, or sponsor. Advertising, where present, is clearly separated from editorial content and never influences formulas, interpretations, or recommendations.
