Every medical calculator and every clinical explanation on AchaWaqat is reviewed by a qualified physician before publication. This page describes who reviews our content and what that review covers.
The reviewer
All medical content on AchaWaqat is reviewed by Dr. Taimoor Asghar — physician and community medicine researcher (ORCID-verified). His research includes self-medication among students, mindfulness correlates, and the psychometric validation of screening instruments including the PHQ-9 and DASS-21.
What medical review covers
- Formula fidelity. The implemented calculation is checked against the original published source — the same guideline, study, or reference the page cites.
- Correct interpretation. Score bands, risk categories, and reference ranges are verified, including the thresholds at which a reader should seek professional care.
- Clinical safety. The page must not be capable of misleading a reader into a dangerous decision. Limitations of the tool are stated plainly, and emergency signs are signposted where relevant.
- Clear language. Explanations must be understandable to a non-specialist without losing clinical precision.
Ongoing review
Review does not end at publication. When the guidelines behind a calculator are updated, the page is re-checked and revised. Readers can also trigger a review at any time through our Corrections Policy page.
Important limitation
Reviewed content is information, not medical advice. A calculator cannot consider your full clinical picture. Always discuss results with a qualified healthcare professional, and seek urgent care for emergencies. If you believe any content is wrong, please report it — accuracy is a shared responsibility.
