⚠️ Warnings & Contraindications

  • Hepatotoxicity may occur - monitor LFTs with prolonged use
  • Multiple drug interactions via CYP2C9, CYP2C19, CYP3A4 inhibition
  • May cause QT prolongation at high doses
  • Dose adjustment required in renal impairment
  • Neonates have prolonged half-life; longer dosing intervals may be needed
  • Not effective against molds (Aspergillus, Mucor)

ℹ️ Clinical Notes

Suspension: 10mg/mL, 40mg/mL. Can be given with or without food. For oropharyngeal thrush in immunocompromised patients, higher doses may be needed. Resistance can develop with prolonged use in immunocompromised hosts.
