⚠️ Warnings & Contraindications
- Generally non-sedating; some children may experience mild drowsiness
- Hepatic impairment requires dose reduction
- For children <2 years, consult physician before use
- Overdose may cause headache, somnolence, and tachycardia
- Less effective than cetirizine for some patients with severe urticaria
ℹ️ Clinical Notes
Syrup: 1 mg/mL. Tablets: 10 mg. Chewables: 5 mg, 10 mg. Reditabs: 10 mg. Can be taken with or without food. Desloratadine (Clarinex) is the active metabolite and can be used for children <2 years.
