⚠️ Warnings & Contraindications

  • FDA BLACK BOX WARNING: Serious neuropsychiatric events including suicidal thoughts, depression, and agitation
  • Stop immediately if patient develops mood changes or suicidal ideation
  • Not for acute bronchospasm - use SABA for rescue
  • Less effective than ICS for asthma control
  • Granules can be mixed with soft food (applesauce, carrots, rice)
  • Not for children <6 months

ℹ️ Clinical Notes

Granules: 4 mg/packet. Chewable tablets: 4 mg, 5 mg. Film-coated tablets: 10 mg. Once-daily dosing in evening for asthma. For exercise-induced bronchospasm, take 2 hours before exercise.
