⚠️ Warnings & Contraindications

  • Not absorbed from GI tract - only effective for mucocutaneous candidiasis
  • For diaper dermatitis with candida, use topical cream plus oral suspension
  • If no improvement in 7 days, consider fluconazole or other systemic antifungal
  • Oral suspension contains sucrose - may contribute to dental caries
  • Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes after oral administration
  • For recurrent thrush, consider HIV testing or diabetes evaluation

Oral suspension: 100,000 units/mL. Topical cream/ointment: 100,000 units/g. Powder: 100,000 units/g. Very safe due to lack of systemic absorption. Often first-line for oral thrush in infants.
