⚠️ Warnings & Contraindications

  • Risk of QT prolongation - obtain ECG if patient has cardiac disease or electrolyte abnormalities
  • Headache is the most common side effect
  • Constipation may occur
  • For gastroenteritis, give smallest effective dose to prevent hospitalization
  • Not effective for motion sickness
  • Serotonin syndrome risk when combined with other serotonergic drugs

ℹ️ Clinical Notes

Oral solution: 4 mg/5 mL. ODT tablets: 4 mg, 8 mg. IV: 2 mg/mL. ODT should not be pushed through foil backing. For children unable to swallow tablets, oral solution is preferred.
