⚠️ Warnings & Contraindications

  • Most effective when started within 48 hours of symptom onset
  • For severe or hospitalized patients, treatment may be beneficial even after 48 hours
  • May cause nausea, vomiting, headache - give with food to reduce GI upset
  • Neuropsychiatric events (delirium, hallucinations) rarely reported in children
  • For infants <14 days: use only if potential benefit justifies risk
  • Does not replace annual influenza vaccination

ℹ️ Clinical Notes

Oral suspension: 6 mg/mL (60 mL bottle = 360 mg). Capsules: 30 mg, 45 mg, 75 mg. For children who cannot swallow capsules, capsules may be opened and mixed with sweetened liquids. For prophylaxis, dosing is once daily at same dose.
