⚠️ Warnings & Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in asthma, bradycardia, heart block, and decompensated CHF
  • Hypoglycemia risk in infants - may mask signs; ensure adequate nutrition
  • Monitor heart rate and blood pressure at each dose escalation
  • Bronchospasm may occur in children with reactive airway disease
  • Sleep disturbances, cold extremities, and fatigue are common
  • Do not stop abruptly - taper over 1-2 weeks to prevent rebound hypertension/tachycardia
  • For hemangiomas, give with food to reduce hypoglycemia risk

ℹ️ Clinical Notes

Hemangeol (propranolol specifically for hemangiomas): 4.28 mg/mL. Standard propranolol solution: 20 mg/5 mL, 40 mg/5 mL. Hemangeol has different concentration - verify product.
