⚠️ Warnings & Contraindications

  • WHO weight-for-length charts are preferred for infants 0-2 years
  • Standing height is approximately 0.7 cm less than recumbent length
  • For children >2 years, use BMI-for-age instead of weight-for-length
  • Rapid crossing of percentile lines may indicate nutritional problems
  • Premature infants should be plotted using corrected age until 24 months

WHO charts are based on the MGRS (Multicentre Growth Reference Study) of healthy breastfed infants. Weight-for-length is the preferred indicator of acute malnutrition in children under 5 years globally.
